The fight is not over! It is essential that we keep the pressure on to protect our wildlife and pets from anticoagulant rodent poisoning. Our voices need to be consistent, persistent, and louder than the opposition.

Our best chance to reduce the use of anticoagulant rodent poisons across the state is for the Legislature to include Sections 74 and 75 of the Senate version of the Mass Ready Act (S.3064) in the final proposal.
Sections 74 and 75 state that cities and towns would be able to ban anticoagulant rodenticides as bylaws or ordinances within their municipal borders, including private property. This would be a gamechanger for the way pest control companies operate and would provide a path for municipal campaigns to make a difference in their communities.
Because the House and Senate passed different versions of the same bill, a Conference Committee was appointed to sort out the differences. The Conference Committee is a temporary group of three representatives and three senators who will decide on the final version this fall.
